Stewardship of Adult Culture and Future Pathways
This week, our team focused heavily on sharpening our internal infrastructure and nurturing our adult culture to ensure we are fully prepared for the upcoming academic year. Julie drove our professional learning systems forward by building the new XP University (XPU) Professional Development Dashboard, alongside providing vital administrative support for HR and coordinating upcoming Jeff Tech High logistics. Ricky anchored our strategic brand evolution, leading development meetings and creating visuals for various new projects while drafting future planning briefs. To ensure our shared culture of Crew is seamlessly reinforced when our doors reopen, Geoff collaborated closely with Crew leads across the Trust to systematically plan the filming and capture of our first-week-back experiences.

Craftsmanship and Curation Across Our Trust
Our commitment to craftsmanship and quality was highly visible this week through extensive physical and digital curation across multiple campuses. Chris worked tirelessly to elevate our learning environments, designing new gate signage for XP Doncaster, crafting assets for the Norton Juniors honours board, installing an EYFS curation display at Green Top, and installing a book display at Plover. Grace and Ricky brought this same high standard of design to our internal products, with Grace prepping part two of the staff induction ‘Viking Codex’ book and Ricky completing early years signage installations. Meanwhile, Andy and Ricky have been meticulously proofing text and refining the final artwork for our landmark Ten Year Book, while Chris coordinated urgent print runs to ensure these beautiful products reached our schools on time for the end of term.
Amplifying Stories of Compassion and Character
Ultimately, our storytelling engine has been focused on magnifying student agency and showing what it looks like when our young people get smart to do good in the world. Geoff worked with our Year 10 students, managing the sound technology and capturing film for their brilliant Romeo and Juliet Presentation of Learning (PoL) – a production where Chris even helped construct the physical staging. Geoff and Andy also broadcasted our core curriculum seams to the wider community by publishing our regular Trust ‘Good News’ update and issuing media releases. These stories celebrated our students’ achievements, highlighting XP Gateshead’s ‘Being Human’ display at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, Plover’s ‘seeds of Crew’ campaign, and beautiful student work curated at DGLAM.
