Kicking off the new term, the Comms Crew hit the ground running to capture the energy of our First Week Back and and lay robust foundations for the year ahead.
Laying Strong Operational Foundations
This week was all about preparation and reconnecting with our wider community. Julie has been masterfully securing our operational framework by creating Basecamp projects for all DLCs, prepping for independent review panels, and booking upcoming school visits from educators across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Spain. Looking outward, Geoff is actively re-establishing ties with community partners, writing a press release on Plover’s exciting collaboration with the RSPCA, and pulling together the last parts of the Comms User Guide for upcoming critique. Meanwhile, Ricky has been managing the overarching administration across all active Business as Usual and Expedition conversations, ensuring our strategic communications are fully aligned from day one.
Curating Culture and Beautiful Work
The physical curation of our schools is central to our culture, and the team worked tirelessly to ensure our learning environments reflect absolute quality. Chris handled a high volume of design and print procurement, delivering termly curation substrates, NJS HoWLS boards, and staff ID cards, alongside repairing the iconic Butterfly display at XP. Grace and Ricky teamed up with Chris to mend the large XPD displays, with Ricky and Chris collaborating on the legacy curation for the ‘Inside Out’ project and the ‘WE ARE DONNY’ runway art piece. Additionally, Grace has put the meticulous finishing touches on part two of the Staff Expedition Slide product, helped trim and laminate activity displays, and kept our community connections alive by processing XP Trust shop orders.
Capturing the Joy of a New Term
Sharing our stories is a core design principle, and Geoff documented the incredible First Week Back across the Trust, creating a highlight video that broadcasts our authentic energy to the world. To further support our primary learners as they return, Chris designed the brilliant ‘Power of Play’ Passports for NIS and visual timetable cards for Carcroft, while Ricky crafted the supporting slide decks and resources for Plover. From Grace heading out to take fresh photos at Carcroft to Ricky steering vital developmental discussions around our XPD Arts printers, it has been a phenomenal, high-impact start to the academic term.
