Dear Crew
Our pilot issue of XPUnpacked was launched on Friday 24 January 2025, and featured a range of articles highlighting high quality Learning Expeditions and Crew experiences; and a moving tribute from Martin Said to one of our dearest friends and staunchest supporters, David Price.
The cover was an abstract from the Year 8 XP Gateshead Learning Expedition, ‘Being Human’ – a stunning example of beautiful work.
The issue went around the world to Europe, Australia and the USA
Here’s what Ron Berger said about our pilot issue:

I wanted to send my congratulations for your heartfelt and beautiful explanations of XP values, of leadership, and of Crew.
And I love this new structure for elevating the work, learning, and reflections of staff members.”
I am now requesting submission of articles for our next edition which is a special one as it will be the ‘first’ issue. I’ve linked the guidance and deadlines for submission here. And remember, this opportunity is open to all staff across our Trust: Admin staff, Comms, Teachers, Learning Coaches, and Leaders.
