We’re looking for a Learning Coach/Teaching Assistant at Carcroft School!

Could you work in an amazing school like Carcroft?

There is a great opportunity to become a Learning Coach/Teaching Assistant at our extraordinary school, Carcroft School.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional, hardworking and dedicated Learning Coach/Teaching Assistant to support and provide high quality support to our learners in our school.  The role will be varied and exciting, with opportunities and challenges to support all abilities and ages on key focused activities that will have a valuable impact on their achievements.

  • Are you keen to have a positive influence on children’s lives?
  • Do you believe in giving every child the opportunity to be the very best version of themselves?
  • Do you have a sense of humour and enjoy contributing to a hardworking and committed team?
  • Do you want to support the development of our children’s character as well as encourage their production of beautiful work as well as their academic performance?

As the LC/TA role is a challenging and rewarding one, applicants must have good communication skills and the ability to overcome communication barriers with children in order to meet the demands of the role.  An LC/TA’s contribution to the school will help to improve behaviour, develop social skills and overcome barriers to learning.

Part of the role may require the applicants to support children with intimate care and experience of working with and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs in a classroom situation would also be an advantage but is not essential. It would also be desirable to have experience of working in Key Stage 2.

Carcroft School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Our Design Principles

‘At XP, we build our community through…

  • Activism
  • Leadership
  • and Equity…

sharing our stories as we go.’

These design principles are the basis for all our work. We focus on enabling our children to create beautiful work that creates agency and has a positive impact on the world; we encourage leadership in our children by facilitating the ownership of their own learning; and we have an unabated insistence on equity to ensure that we remove any barriers that inhibit student growth and success.

Therefore, at Carcroft School we focus relentlessly on high quality work and character growth. As a result, our school culture is value driven. Therefore, we expect our children, staff and parents to be courageous, respectful, committed to craftsmanship and quality, compassionate and to always show integrity. We provide an authentically tough and rewarding education for everyone, and we believe this is best achieved through not segregating our children by any measure, such as social class or academic ability.

We believe a person is judged by their character and the quality of work they produce. Our school focuses continuously on these two crucial areas of development.  Our children express who they are by personalising their work, and are given time to produce beautiful and meaningful work by following a process of multiple drafts and critique, working towards creating products which are indistinguishable from professionals. Every day, our children develop their habits of work and learning by working hard, getting smart and being kind.

At Carcroft, we believe that all our children have the right to become the best that they can be.
