On Thursday 3rd July JMS, RMA, RCA and GCH had the privilege of attending the MTIC Conference with 11 students from G29 and leaders from Schools, Colleges, Universities and Industry partners from the North East who came together to consider the challenge around maths education in our region. Our students opened the conference at the Common Room in Newcastle with a keynote speech entitled ‘what makes for great education’ and then joined in with table discussions alongside education leaders. A pin drop moment for the whole conference! Our students also enjoyed time with Archivists from the Common Room in the afternoon considering how we can further develop our expeditions at XPG and draw on the historical wealth of engineering greatness we have in the North East.
