This is our community. These are our stories. Come and be a part of it.
There’s a unique opportunity to join our flagship school – XP Doncaster.
We have openings for teaching positions for the 2024–25 school year, and we’re welcoming applications from exceptional teachers across all disciplines – particularly in English, Science, Humanities, Geography, and STEAM. Thanks to our interdisciplinary, Expeditionary curriculum and the flexible expertise of our current team, we’re able to build around the strengths of the right people.
This is your chance to teach in a school where the work matters – where students create beautiful products, take on real-world challenges, and grow as leaders, activists, and compassionate citizens.
Teaching at XP
At XP Trust, our teachers are more than educators – they are designers, Crew leaders, and changemakers. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team to shape and deliver interdisciplinary Learning Expeditions that stretch across subjects and connect deeply to the world beyond the classroom.

Our curriculum is rooted in rigour, relevance, and relationships. You’ll challenge students to think critically, work courageously, and reflect deeply on both academic content and character. Every piece of work has purpose. Every student is known. And every teacher has the chance to make a real difference.
At XP Doncaster, you’ll be part of a school that does things differently – where we value creativity, collaboration, and challenge in equal measure. We support professional growth through shared planning, purposeful CPD, and an unwavering belief that great teachers continue to learn, too.

If you’re ready to teach in a school where your ideas matter, your work has impact, and you’re part of something bigger than yourself – this is the role for you.
Learning Expeditions: Real-World Learning That Matters
At XP Trust, learning is an adventure. Our students engage in Learning Expeditions – interdisciplinary projects that connect subjects like science, history, and English around a central, compelling question.
These Expeditions are designed to:
- Foster deep understanding across subjects
- Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Encourage students to produce high-quality, meaningful work
Take this Expedition as an example, where students at XP explored the guiding question, “Why should we care about migration?”
The final product of this particular Expedition was a documentary – but our students produce books, conferences, campaigns and more.
Our approach ensures that learning is not only academically rigorous but also relevant and impactful.
Crew: Building Stronger Communities
Every student and staff member at XP Trust is part of a Crew – a small, supportive group that functions like a school family.
Crew sessions focus on:
- Academic support and goal setting
- Character development and reflection
- Team-building activities
This structure ensures that each student is known, supported, and challenged to be their best self.
As one of our students puts it, “In Crew, we learn to work together, support each other, and grow as individuals.”
We build Crew in a number of ways – both in the classroom and out. Here are some reflections on Crew from our Year 7 cohort – just three days after starting at XP.

Our Design Principles
‘At XP, we build our community through…
- Activism,
- Leadership
- and Equity…
sharing our stories as we go.’
These design principles are the basis for all our work. We focus on enabling our students to create beautiful work that creates agency and has a positive impact on the world; we encourage leadership in our students by facilitating the ownership of their own learning; and we have an unabated insistence on equity to ensure that we remove any barriers that inhibit student growth and success.
Therefore, at XP we focus relentlessly on high quality work and character growth. As a result, our school culture is value driven. Therefore, we expect our children, staff and parents to be courageous, respectful, committed to craftsmanship and quality, compassionate and to always show integrity. We provide an authentically tough and rewarding education for everyone, and we believe this is best achieved through not segregating our children by any measure, such as social class or academic ability.
We believe a person is judged by their character and the quality of work they produce. Our school focuses continuously on these two crucial areas of development. Our children express who they are by personalising their work, and are given time to produce beautiful and meaningful work by following a process of multiple drafts and critique, working towards creating products which are indistinguishable from professionals. Every day, our children develop their habits of work and learning by working hard, getting smart and being kind, and reflecting on our character values of courage, respect, craftsmanship and quality, compassion and integrity.
